When you finally get your child potty trained, it can feel like you just completed a marathon. Like as a mother, you deserve a medal. There are moments of doubts and fear. There is laughter and tears. My favorite moments from all the craziness of potty training is that happiness in their eyes of their accomplishment.

My second child is officially potty trained which means one less case of diapers I need to purchase. However, as this journey has come to an end, I still have one more baby to train. And it looks like he is interested. I mean, he just saw his sister go through it, he was there every time we cheer and every special snack to celebrate her accomplishment. Why wouldn't he want to give it a whirl?

My first time going through potty training, I made the mistake of not listening to the pediatrician. The doctor told me if she wouldn't get it before the baby was born, don't bother because she will regress. Did I listen? Kind of...not. Boy oh boy was I wrong. She went immediately back to diapers when her sister was born. And it was frustrating.

So when it came time to train my second baby, I decided to wait until after the baby was born since she was not interested. It was a lot smoother, sort of, just no frustration of having to start over. Now my last baby, he is the last one. There are no other babies after him.

I loved reading my kids books to introduce them to potty training. I got them each their own book on potty training. It just made the moment to feel like their individual unique experience. We do share our books so we will read all them together. Here is a list of a few of my favorite books that my kids have enjoyed:

Potty by Leslie Patricelli book.

This is a really cute and simple read for the kids.

Dino Potty - Learn How to Potty with Dino

If your kid likes dinosaurs, this is great choice.

P is for Potty book with Elmo and friends.

This a new addition to our collection. The kids enjoyed and it keeps them entertained.

Potty Time with Elmo book.

My daughter fell in love with this book. I would say this one really encouraged her to go to the potty.

Poop There It iS

I think this is my favorite book, my kids too. It's just a fun book to read and helps normalize pooping for the kids. I know my kids were scared to poop in the potty and this book just makes it more entertaining.

I know I will be enjoying these books with my kids as I embark on my last journey of potty training and I hope you do too!
